BIOGRAPHY
Born in Singapore and raised in Basel, Silvio Tommasini alias monoblock b becomes a music activist (Goth, Pnk and EBM) and passionate Musicians in his teens. It is no coincidence that his first band, in which he sang and played guitar, is called “l’amour sauvage”. At the end of the Nineties he moves to Zurich and co-founds the music label Spezialmaterial. With his dark, wild and spectacular shows he is an underground star in no time at all and before long, he plays the big clubs of the town and specialists call him a “phenomenon” on national television. Off stage he creates music for theatre productions, performances and art installations. To date, he has released seven solo records and was featured on 20 compilations.
PROJECT
Music like chewing foil – just much better. monoblock b offers a noisy 1-man-live- music-performance. He covers the grounds between bleak ambient, mechabiotic-techno and glitchy breakbeat, future noise and wave_punxXx, taking us on a unique journey through space and time. He skillfully breaks up sound structures with his haunting vocals, which are a fixture in the various styles that make up his music. monoblock b has been active in the studio and on stage for 28 years now and has played hundreds of shows to enthusiastic audiences in clubs and festivals all over the world.
