Born in Singapore and raised in Basel, Silvio Tommasini – aka monoblock b – has been active since the early 1990s as a musician, performer, DJ and sonic explorer. Shaped by Darkwave, Industrial, Punk and EBM, he blends bleak soundscapes with technoid rhythms and distorted vocals – raw, intense, and uncompromising. His first band was aptly named L’Amour Sauvage.
In the late ’90s, he moved to Zurich and co-founded the experimental label Spezialmaterial. Since then, monoblock b has played clubs, festivals and art venues across Switzerland, Europe and beyond – often described as a “phenomenon” with wild, spectacular live shows.
He has released seven solo works and appears on over 20 compilations. Alongside his solo music, he also composes for theatre productions, performances, installations and experimental formats.
PROJECT
monoblock b delivers a raw, driving one-man live performance, blending dark ambient atmospheres, punchy EBM, darkwave, and industrial techno. His haunting vocals cut through dense soundscapes, break through familiar structures, and transport the audience on a unique journey through space and time.
With over 30 years of experience in the studio and on stage, monoblock b has played hundreds of shows at clubs and festivals around the world, captivating audiences with his uncompromising sound and energy.
